START HERE - POINT OF VIEW

Discovery, inspiration, and the concept the client commits to

Begin with the concept.

You have great ideas. What is missing is the process that gets you from a client conversation to an original concept — so instead you end up looking at the same event photos everyone else is looking at, and recreating them.

The planners I have taught who scored low here were missing that process, not creativity.

This is the discovery work. The questions you ask, what you learn about the client, the photographs she is drawn to and why, the inspiration board you build from it, and the concept she commits to. It starts before the client, too. Staying inspired by art, fashion and travel is what keeps a point of view fresh rather than borrowed.
