What to Expect
Before you arrive — you receive the art brief: the concept, the palette, the materials, the references, and what we intend to make. You'll walk in already knowing the concept and already having opinions about it.
DAY 1
the principles
We start with the principles of design themselves — scale, proportion, rhythm, restraint, tension, focal point — and put them to work immediately through the lens of this city, this building, and this concept. We read the
the guest lecture
One design focus, explored properly, taught by vendors at the top of our industry in that discipline. Product in your hands and the person who knows it best teaching it to you. This is where you ask the questions you've been too embarrassed to ask a vendor you're hiring.
DAY 2
the production
We take the concept into production and shoot it. Real materials, real install, real decisions made at speed. By the end of day two there's a fully produced space in front of you that didn't exist the day before, and you helped design it.
What you leave with. Every planner in the room is photographed in the space they helped create. You leave with a new headshot and new portfolio images from a fully produced design you had a hand in building.
